Battersea Power Station - our biggest ever creation

At 5pm on Thursday 4th December 2025, something remarkable happened. A huge crowd of people gathered by the Thames in South West London, looking up at the towers of the Battersea Power Station, waiting in anticipation as a Christmas choir sang carols in front of them. They were there for the official unveiling of Apple’s ‘Your Tree on Battersea’.

And we were there too, alongside two very talented artists, 8-year-old Olivia and her little sister Margaux, who’s 4, to watch as our own design lit up the huge building in front of us.

That’s right - this year, Things I Have Drawn was commissioned by Apple, alongside other established artists and celebrities including Kylie Minogue, Sir Stephen Fry, Oliver Jeffers, David Shrigley OBE and Munya Chawawa - to help launch an epic new competition, in which members of the public could submit their own designs to feature on the iconic 101-metre-high chimneys that soar above the River Thames.

The competition continues Apple’s tradition of celebrating festive creativity outside their flagship store and UK headquarters. In 2023, David Hockney created Bigger Christmas Trees on the iPad Pro, and last year, Aardman produced a brilliant short animation featuring Wallace & Gromit.

And so, from 5pm to 10.30pm every evening until 24th December, 24 winning submissions will be projected onto the front of the Power Station, alongside those designed by us, and the other launch artists. And it’s your chance to see the beautifully wonky tree and two feathery robins drawn by Olivia and Margaux, come to life and shine gloriously across the Thames, in a Things I Have Drawn creation like nothing we’ve ever done before. Have a wonderful Christmas, everyone.
