I was absolutely delighted to join the wonderful charity The Big Draw last night (2nd Nov 2021) to do a talk called 'Social Media for Artists: How to Build a Following'. It was a ticketed event, all done over Zoom, with all proceeds going to The Big Draw (of which I am privileged to have recently become a trustee).
In advance of the event, I'd promoted the talk as an opportunity to make a donation to this wonderful charity dedicated to raising the profile of drawing as a tool for wellbeing, thought, creativity, social and cultural engagement - with the additional 'bonus' of hearing me talking about my journey with Things I Have Drawn and how I reached over 870k followers on Instagram, plus a whole load of tips and tricks I've picked up along the way that will hopefully help other creators and artists grow their own social followings.
A huge thanks to the team at The Big Draw - especially Sandra Borszcz and Eleanor Pender.
If you missed out, I'm sure I'll share some of the thinking in future posts and talks, so do keep a look out for it.
